A panoramic view of the rising milky way. The panorama spans over 200 degrees viewing angle. Where the milky way goes down to the horizon, is northern/southern direction.

This is a panorama consisting of nine images, 2 minutes exposed each at an iso speed of 800. Focal length was 15 mm, camer was EOS 1D Mark IV.

Perhaps you know Rothenburg, an ancient town. Just a few km north of it.

The image was taken in Weikersheim, southern Germany. It is a small observatory with a 20 inch cassegrain telescope and some other instruments.

Was the camera on a moving rig? The stars are so crisp and round... no streaking whatsoever, except for a comet or two there... I just wonder how could you do it?!
